What is rideuropa?
rideuropa is the European community of motorcyclists: a free website and app to find riders near you, organise and join group rides, share routes and biker-friendly places, and sell your bike on the marketplace. It also has a motorcycle navigator (curvy or scenic routes, voice directions) and records rides with distance, bends and elevation.
How do I find other riders to go out with?
In the app you see riders in your area who chose to be findable, group rides near you (with meeting point and WhatsApp group) and lift requests. You can follow whoever you like and propose a ride yourself. You decide who can see you, from your profile.
Is it free?
Yes. Until the official launch everything is free for everyone, including the Silver and Gold features, and we don't ask for a credit card. After the launch recording rides, voice navigation, leaderboards, badges, the garage and the marketplace will stay free; only some advanced features will be in the Silver and Gold plans. We'll let you know before the launch and nothing will be charged automatically: you decide whether to subscribe. rideuropa takes no commission on the marketplace.
Does it work across Europe?
Yes: maps, navigation and routes cover all of Europe. Leaderboards exist by city, province, region and country.
Who can see where I live?
Nobody. With privacy zones the start and end of your rides near home are never shown, and your live position is only seen by the people you share it with.
Do I need a connection while riding?
Not for recording: points stay on the phone and upload later. The map and rerouting need a connection.
Does it drain the battery?
It is built to use little: it records with the screen off and the app tells you how much battery it used per hour.
Where do I get the app?
The Android app is a free download from rideuropa.com/app (soon on Google Play too). On iPhone, for now, use the website in Safari. Your account works in both the app and the website.
